Orson HorchlerWords have powerI was happily listening to this podcast a couple years ago and one comment from Ari during one episode had had me completely stop listening (until I recently decided to give it another try) Over reaction? Perhaps. But also a testament to how incredibly powerful words can be to sensitive artist types like me working so hard at creating and believing in their Quixotic vision… the comment was something along the lines of telling artist that the one thing they should not do if they want to become successful is have kids. I had recently gotten news that my partner and I were unexpectedly expecting, and this felt like a real punch in the gut. Even though I know of a lot of artists who had kids while working on the beginning stages of their music careers. I myself am not a successful singer songwriter in that I don’t make a living off of it yet. But today, I can tell you I have never been as productive as well as happy with my music as since the birth of my daughter. Yet I still feel the need to seek out encouragement, an inspiration from others in the music industry. I’m so sick of this industry acting like having kids is worse than getting the plague and a couple artist friends I know who are on labels even felt the need to hide the fact they were becoming parents for fear of being dropped! Ari, I would encourage you to think of this along the same line that what you said in a brilliant recent show you hosted with Ni/Co, regarding people using the phrase “failed release.“ In fact! If you read this, I would love to see you do an episode (or a series!) On parenting in music. check out the website Parents In Jazz, for example. Of course, having kids is challenging at a high level, but that’s exactly why artists who our parents sometimes have incredible productivity hacks that could be an inspiration to all. And would be extremely reassuring and supportive for current parents to hear as they’re trying to make it to the next level of their music carriers. Thank you for reading!

lunarmysteriaMusic Biz EducationEvery episode is a learning experience for anyone in the modern music industry. I like to cherry pick episodes based on what I’m working on at the time, and there’s almost always something that helps me out or at least points me in the right direction. Thank you Ari!

Tm5151Great InfoThe interviews on the show provide great insight for emerging artists
-
IitskayyyyyyEnjoying but.,,i enjoy this type of podcast, but he doesn’t let people talk enough. he’s talking more than the person he’s interviewing.
-
TufferdubUnbelievable, grow your knowledgeThanks to the trove of valuable information, I’ve been able to start my own company. Now XSTSound/HyMettus Woods sells a composition at least once a month and I’m pleased, now, with the amount I can ask and maintain publishing and masters. Thanks to Ari and the pod, I’m growing as a business and growing as an artist. Highly recommended.
-
charleyiskoolThe host talks much more than the guestIt’s extremely annoying when the host does 80% of the talking and we never really get to go deep to hear the ideas of the guest. This host talks and talks and talks, and the guest end up just saying “uh huh” and “yah” when he manages to take a breath. It should be very obvious for a podcast host to know when to shut up and stay quiet and let the guest talk. But this host has a bad case of “ I love to hear myself talk.”
-
JdubloveAri the Artist & AdvocateAri asks the best questions to really get as much information as transparent as possible and it’s so helpful. I’m learning about the music biz from his interviews. And this biz is confusing!! Thank you Ari 🎼
-
MJS RecordsToo vanilla and not diverse enoughThere barely any black artists or entertainers interviewed. Ari doesn’t speak to the majority of artists; only the white people who work in the music business. I tried for years to get into this podcast but I need to Unsubscribe! Diversify your guests.
-
Ev Name Taken AlreadyOne of the most informative showsAri is very professional as well as informative with regards to a variety of trends & necessary topics. I wish him the best & hope that he is able to continue successfully.

Kenna MyersSo incredibly helpfulI take an hour every day to listen to advice from Ari on his podcasts/YouTube channel about how I can improve the business side of my music. I’ve paid for two of his courses on Ari’s Take Academy and LOVE all the knowledge I’ve learned from him and the instructors that help him. 100% recommend Ari to anyone looking to “make it” in the music industry, whatever that looks like for you :)
-
BennylippIncredibleThis podcast is blowing my mind. As a songwriter who stepped away years ago and coming back to writing. This is the best music business podcast out there. If you aren’t listening. You are missing out!!!

Smile4poptartAri reads your mindAri does an excellent job interviewing each of his guests, asking them the pressure point questions that were humming in the back of your mind ~ but didn’t make it to your consciousness. He is an excellent journalist & his years in this industry cut through the noise to what really matters. You can’t get this info anywhere else! Thank you Ari 👏🏻

i could do without itValuable insight for arstistsI’ve been making music for over twenty years. I’ve read dozens of dozens of books and periodicals. In all of my years of struggling to make it as an artist, I’ve learned more from Ari’s Take in just a few months than all of these years combined. Ari helps us navigate the constantly changing music business. He literally gives us the game.
-
shiyanahillPinknoiseEnt#pureBest music business podcast I’ve ever heard. The guests are amazing. One stop shop for all informational independent artists needs. If you are an aspiring music producer, music supervision, performing artist, songwriter, music publisher, music manager, and so many other aspects in the music business, this is the podcast for you. Keep up the great work♥️
-
everythingmcThank you!I have thoroughly enjoyed these conversations. I’ve gone back to the beginning and working my way through all of them. The knowledge and quality can’t be overstated. Ari is such as asset to our community, and beyond. Ari, I’m a singer songwriter who has been making a consistent part-time living off of royalties since 2009 off of one Craigslist submission. I have taken time away for other careers but am reapplying myself as a songwriter, producer, collaborator. Your pod fortifies my belief in myself and my goal to make this my Full Time living. Cheers, Jennifer McNutt
-
Mark "Huggy Bear" LavengoodAri is 🔥🔥🔥The insight, knowledge, and guidance for making it in the new music business is imperative and it’s hard to find elsewhere, let alone done well. Bravo Ari & co. Hope we can collab somewhere down the line 🙌
-
buttbutt42Not worth the listens anymore. He’s just posting reruns. Either post new content or take a break from posting. Ari used to feel like he was helping artists. Now he just talks over his guests, hogs speaking time on the podcasts, and feels money hungry and a bit like a scam artist preying on people who wants to get better and succeed.
-
fb.com/yougotmeDear AriDear Ari, I wanted to reach out and express my gratitude for all of the time and effort you have gone through researching and revealing the ever evolving music business’s inherent trends and potential opportunities. Your heart cover (I said hard cover go Siri) and audiobook “Everything You Need To Know About The New Music Business” has directly impacted my debut album charting on billboard in 2018. Additionally, you’re down to earth and interactive podcast continues to pave the way with clarity for me while gearing up to release “Sensitive” on July 23rd. Sending you blessings of continued health happiness, success and all your hearts desires come true for the best. Thank you. Mayer Malik @mayermalik

Viv C.S.Yes! This guy KNOWS HIS STUFF!!I am SO glad Ari’s finally doing a podcast! I’ve been waiting on this since I first caught wind of him almost 2 years ago. His knowledge and deep dives into all things music-biz related is invaluable, in his books and now in his podcast. He breaks everything down and reiterates his guest’s points, giving the listener a solid understanding of the topic. He also throws in anecdotes and humor which is entertaining, and after each episode I get impatient waiting for the next. Rock on, Ari. You’re like the Terry Gross of the music biz podcasts!! 😎
-
