123465347744477New Hosts? The new hosts took over with literally no warning. The first episode was not great, but there has been some improvement. It’s just disappointing that Eric is gone. He was so knowledgeable and interesting.
-
Hacker 100New FormatThe new hosts need to talk more about Wisconsin and a lot less about themselves. The previous host were more informative about Wisconsin history and places to go.

Grambypamby59Wisconsin peopleThe people of Wisconsin are the nicest! I was an Upstate New Yorker and I moved to Wisconsin 3 yrs ago . I Love it here . And I’m never leaving. I Enjoy listening to The Cabin great stuff to learn about Wisconsin.
-
Spidermonkey990Just found this pod!Never heard of this pod and it recently popped up on my feed- I love the upbeat energy of the hosts, I find myself laughing along
-
Matt91Another entertaining Andrea Boehlke podcast! 5⭐️I’m a longtime Andrea fan and the first episode didn’t disappoint! Hopefully there will be many more tangents to come!
-
MrsMac99Hope it gets betterWe really enjoy Wisconsin themed podcasts. We listen to learn and discover additional areas around the state we may want to visit. This podcast goes up and down. Sometimes they do a great job of highlighting different areas around the state and sometimes all they want to do is talk about Milwaukee and Madison. Just listened to the first podcast with these new hosts. It was a pretty rough start. Way too much giggling and not any information of substance. (Other than the 22 year-old complaining about how gross fishing is. Which is sort of counter-productive for promoting Wisconsin). Will keep listening to see if it gets better, but if it’s more of the same, then it will be an Unfollow.

SeveredManNew Hosts, Bug Vibes: The Freshest Take on WisconsinIf you’re looking for a podcast that’s as fresh and exciting as a new block of cheese, look no further. With only one episode under their belt, the new hosts are already creating vibes that are cheddar than anything I’ve heard lately. Their energy is contagious, and the chemistry between them is whey beyond what you'd expect from a show just starting out. They’ve got this perfect mix of humor and heart, making it feel like you’re hanging out with old friends at a Wisconsin tailgate. The vibes are so high, you’ll feel like you’re part of the conversation, whether it’s about the Packers, cheese curds, or just life in the Midwest. Can’t wait to see who they bring on next—hopefully someone who can match the energy and add even more layers to this already gouda time. This podcast is destined to become your new favorite—because these hosts? They’re the brie of the crop. Highly recommend for anyone looking to get in on some seriously good vibes!
-
Farmboy2366New castI’ve been watching discover Wisconsin for years. And listening to the cabin since the first episode. I do not like the new hosts. Giggling women. Please bring Eric Paulson back.
-
bsbdhsjslanavrnrkxbcTransitionsI’ve had to change my review. I used to love this podcast but now the hosts have changed and all they talk about is Milwaukee and its surroundings. There is SO much more to Wisconsin than these big hitters you keep focusing on and repeating every episode. Disappointing never hearing any other options

herstory historyGreat podcast about WisconsinThis podcast is so full of information that I love to listen twice to each one. The presentation is entertaining, the hosts are pleasantly enthusiastic, and the destinations are fantastic. If you want to plan a trip to Wisconsin, learn about Wisconsin, or fully enjoy your home state of Wisconsin, this is the podcast for you!

Mr awesome101Wisconsin KidDid you even grow up in Wisconsin in the 70’s or 80’s if you didn’t have a little Brandy with 7 up or 50/50 in a little glass with a stir stick during the holidays ???

musicpopI'm Moving Back!My wife and I are currently out in Oregon. I moved out to Portland in 2016 for grad school after living in Milwaukee for undergrad. The moment I left Wisconsin, I realized how incredibly great it is and began to miss it - although Oregon has been a great home for the last 7 years. I appreciate the enthusiasm that all the hosts share about the great state of Wisconsin and my Oregonian wife and I are very excited to be tourists in Wisconsin when we move to Milwaukee this fall. Thank you for all the great suggestions. I will add a shout out to a supper club I am surprised hasn't been mentioned in this podcast. Growing up in Portage, my family and I used to drive out to Cimarolis Supper Club, well-known for their award-winning flat-iron steaks and (of course) brandy old-fashioneds. If none of you have been there, I highly recommend it! Thanks Cabin Podcast!
-
Ken-FACEGreat banter, great for trip planning! We’re headed on a road trip this summer and headed into Wisconsin! We have never been to Wisconsin so I was looking for some info and stumbled across The Cabin Podcast! Woah! Not only have we learned so much about Wisconsin but we are now super excited to visit the state! We added details to our road trip that we never would have otherwise! I have been binging all the episodes that pertain to where we are going (Devil’s Lake, Green Bay, Door County, Milwaukee, to name a few) and others as well. We love the hosts’ voices and their jolly banter. We even looked up some homes on zillow to see how affordable the state was in case we want to move there!!! Thank you!!

BenC100Celebrating WisconsinHi CabinPod, I have been along for the ride since Episode 1, and you're still a highlight of my week over 180 episodes later. The deep dives and hidden gems wow visitors, transplants, and lifelong residents alike. You guys celebrate and preserve Wisconsin's quirky culture so well. I have a few episode recommendations: The inter and intra state rivalries episode A Reunion episode with the OG Audio Dave, Mariah, Eric, and Ellen covering what they're up to and what they miss about Wisconsin. Cool Wisconsin Instagram accounts. I run Wisconsin Wayfarer if you ever have an episode opening for a guest host.

FIBing around WisconsinGreat way to learn about the great state.I’ve been a long time listener to the Cabin pod and have always enjoyed learning more about the state. My family has a cabin in the northwoods that we frequently visit throughout the year. One major realization that I’ve made over the years is that we rarely ever stop or explore anywhere between home and the cabin. This podcast has done a great job at highlighting some super cool places, events, and activity’s to stop and enjoy along the way. It’s opened our eyes and encouraged us to explore more of the fun stuff the great state of Wisconsin has to offer, instead of just driving through it. Thanks for a great podcast and I look forward to hearing more.
-
AmberLinseyColorado ListenerMy family and I started out by watching Discover Wisconsin about a year ago. Then when I heard you had a pod cast as well I was hooked! We have planned a vacation to Wisconsin in June and can’t wait to visit this beautiful state! Hopefully someday we can move there! Thank you!!!
-
R BrandtEntertaining & informativeI have listened to every episode going back to no.1 from 2020 while on the job as a truck driver traveling around the state. I always learn something new and things to add to my list of places to go. I have several ideas for new episodes. You could do one on the best prisons, (just kidding) car shows around the state, best scenic overlooks, or one on the rustic road system (don’t know if you’ve covered that). Anyway keep up the good work Eric & the gang! I look forward to many more great episodes in the future.
-
Lake_River ScientistMakes me feel at homeI found this podcast when I moved to Wisconsin and it helped me get to know my new state and feel at home. Soon I will be moving out of state, and now this podcast is becoming a warm nostalgia trip, and it makes me want to call Wisconsin my permanent home someday.
-
WesternWiscoAdventuristLittle slice of everything WisconsinI stumbled upon this podcast not too long ago, I’ve been waiting until I’d listened to all of the shows before leaving a review. I love all the topics you cover in your show, I’ve been exploring and researching Wisconsin extensively for the past few years and enjoy hearing about new places and history. You all do a great job of covering a wide variety of topics while bringing humor and fun into the show. It seems like the format of the show changed a bunch and you don’t cover as much variety in the episodes but there are more episodes so that’s cool. I think Jack Taylor would be a great guest on the show sometime, I’d love to hear more about Western Wisconsin
-
CarolBethI miss Season 1I used to love this podcast and would listen to a new episode each week. But then the hosts started changing and the audio quality got bad so it’s just gone down the drain since then. Susan uses the same two or three phrases on repeat where it’s to the point that she sounds incredibly fake. The transitions from segment to segment are awkward and it’s as if you’re new to podcasting. They’re always posed as a question… “Hey Eric, did you know that blah blah blah. No I didn’t Susan but tell me more” I don’t know what’s up with the sound but it’s not balanced. When Susan is talking it’s so loud I have to turn my volume down, then someone else starts talking and I can’t hear anything so I have to turn it way up only to have my ear drums blown out by Susan’s laugh. I really want to like this podcast but something has to change for the better.
-
nforbsGreat podcast but please remove one thingLove listening to this, but please don’t have your hosts eating while recording. I couldn’t make it through the cheese curd episode with the constant sound of chewing

Ring ringerMy Friday Go To PodcastI work from home and listen to podcasts to compensate for the lack of coworkers. The Cabin is my Friday (fewer meetings) go-to podcast and I often take notes and wrangle friends to checkout the locations featured on your podcast. I even enrolled in All of Us research program after hearing about it on The Cabin. Topic suggestion, bike trails in Wisconsin. I realize you did a mountain bike episode but for those less adventurous, Wisconsin has many paved and packed limestone trails worth featuring. A few of my favorites are Old Mariners trail, Old Abe trail, Three Eagle trail, Green Circle, Mountain Bay, I could go on and on. 😊 🚲Keep doing what you do! RingRinger

Wisco SubieA must listenThis podcast compliments the discover Wisconsin show perfectly. It highlights all the amazing things that make Wisconsin a great state and provides so many ideas of things to do that otherwise would be lost. Keep up the great work!

Cheese & TravelsDominic the Food ReviewerHave you heard of Dominic the Food Reviewer? Would be great to have the podcast do a story about his Wisconsin food reviews and travels. He would have something to add about where to get a good burger!
-
outdoor soulBest burgersI just finished listening to your episode about the best burgers in Wi. Loved it and I’m so hungry now! I’ve only been listening to your podcast for a few months and certainly enjoy it. So many places to visit and restaurants to try! Maybe you should do the “ best barbecue/ brisket restaurants “ episode. The country park episode was another favorite of mine. Thank you and keep up the great work!

J.A. from AppletonLove These Hosts!Love learning about all of the Wisconsin content, but mostly love hearing Susan’s bubbliness and exuberance for the state of Wisconsin 🤘🏼🧀
-
KDfromMilwaukeeGood content, but...I believe that I have listened to every episode of this podcast since its inception, so long time listener here. You guys are always begging for reviews, so here we go. I like the content of the podcast as far as learning about the different areas in the state, towns, and different attractions. However, ever since Susan took over for Mariah, I can barely make it through each episode, and need to have it at 2x speed. It seems like she has a lot of fake exuberance, she says "oh my gosh" about a thousand times an episode, and none of you can just roll through a transition. Like I said, I like the content, but COME ON GUYS, do something to make it more professional and less awkward. You are probably going for a quirky, fun vibe or something, but it's just annoying really. I mean, keep it up...and maybe keep Susan producing but have someone else do the actual show? I really like Erik Paulson, but something needs to happen with the show so it wastes less of my time and makes the show less like nails on a chalkboard. You would probably grow faster if it wasn't so time consuming and awkward, and as for me I might just drop this one.
-
MichiganKaturaShow ideaI’ve listened to every episode of The Cabin and love them all. I heard your request for show ideas and I have one, although it’s not a winter theme. How about a show about classic Wisconsin rivalries within the state? I grew up in Neenah & there was a pretty big rivalry between Neenah & Menasha. It would be interesting to learn the history behind this rivalry and I’m sure there are other similar rivalries in the state.
-
Ranger ValerieNever ending bucket listThe Cabin has a great variety of topics that cover all corners of Wisconsin! An entertaining podcast that will have you adding new places and events to your bucket list after every episode. I’d love to hear an episode on the Chequamegon-Nicolet National Forest and one on the properties managed by the National Park Service in the state like the Apostle Islands, Ice Age Trail, North Country Trail and the St. Croix River.
-
Bubba1204729Nailed itAs a Wisconsin native I love this podcast. They talk about all my favorite places to go and things to do in Wisconsin. They also give me great ideas for what trips to do next.

DebonisnonAn invaluable tool for Wisconsin travel planningHi friends at The Cabin podcast. Greetings from Canton, Georgia. Many years ago I set a personal goal of visiting all of the Lower 48 by the age of 48. Last month, and just days before my 49th birthday, I am proud to say that I accomplished my goal. The last 4 states on my list were Wisconsin, Michigan, Minnesota, and Iowa. I combined them all into what was essentially a road trip through Wisconsin that I took with my wife and two daughters, Laney and Lillianne. As I planned my itinerary, your podcast proved to be an invaluable tool. I listened to many episodes in advance of the trip as I planned what we would experience along the way, and we also listened to the podcast during the trip itself for last-minute tips on the places we would soon visit. We flew into Chicago on Saturday and spent a day there, then began our Wisconsin road trip with a drive up to Madison on Sunday. On Monday, we spent the morning exploring Madison, had a great lunch of brats and cheese curds at State Street Brats and spent the early afternoon enjoying State Street. Next, we drove east to Milwaukee and spent a couple of hours exploring there. We had a quick dinner at Kopp’s Frozen Custard in Greenfield (which I discovered through The Cabin podcast), then caught a Milwaukee Brewers game at Miller Park. The Brewers lost, but we agreed that it was the most enjoyable ballpark experience we have ever had. After the game, we made a short drive north to Sheboygan. On Tuesday, we enjoyed views of Lake Michigan as we drove Lakefront Road from Sheboygan to Manitowoc. After a quick stop at Silver Creek Park to dip our toes in Lake Michigan, we turned inland and drove to De Pere, where we had a decadent mid-morning snack of Kringle at Uncle Mike’s Bake Shoppe. From there, we visited Lambeau Field and took a really fun tour there, then had a fabulous lunch around the corner at the Booyah Shed (another spot I heard about on the podcast). After a short exploration of downtown Green Bay, we drove northeast to cross the Michigan line (State #46), then drove west to Langlade on Highway 64. From there, we drove south on Highway 55, a scenic drive along the Wolf River, then turned west into Stevens Point. Inspired by your Iconically Wisconsin episode on Kwik Trip, we decided to have dinner at a Kwik Trip that night, then went for dessert at Belt’s Soft Serve (also a place we discovered through the podcast). On Wednesday, we explored the heart of Wisconsin area, which included a visit to Feltz’s Dairy Store in Stevens Point, the Wisconsin Dairy State Cheese Company in Rudolph, lunch in Wisconsin Rapids (the hometown of my daughter’s boyfriend, Weston), and an exploration of the cranberry marshes around Warrens. Your episode on the Heart of Wisconsin, which had been released just days before our visit, was great resource on this day and we later learned that the guest on that episode, Tianna Vanderhei, used to babysit Weston back in the day. Late in the day we drove to LaCrosse and just over the Minnesota line (State #47). I had a great meal of beer cheese soup and poutine that night at Buzzard Billy’s in LaCrosse. On Thursday, we drove the Great River Road (Highway 35) from LaCrosse to Prairie Du Chien, then crossed over into Iowa (State #48!) for a short visit to Effigy Mounds National Monument in Harper’s Ferry, Iowa. From there, we drove east to New Glarus, where we had lunch and explored the town (another podcast find), then made our way back to Chicago. My enduring memory of our trip would have to be the drive along the Great River Road on Highway 35 from Lacrosse to Prairie du Chien. It was a bright and sunny day, and the family was singing along to the soundtrack of the musical “Big River” (which seemed appropriate for the occasion) as if we didn’t have a care in the world. I was driving, with one hand on the wheel and the other hand holding a delicious block of freshly made Wisconsin cheese, which I ate like you’d eat an apple. And, of course, I washed it all down with an ice cold can of Jolly Good Soda! When we travel, we try hard to immerse ourselves in the culture of the area we are visiting. We had a wonderful week doing just that in Wisconsin, and we loved most everything about your beautiful state. We plan to visit again someday. The Cabin podcast deserves much of the credit for amazing time we had. Highly recommended. John from Canton, GA.
-
Jared TravelsInformative, easy to listen toThis podcast is highly recommended if you want to know more about Wisconsin and/or if you plan to travel there. The hosts try to point out and recommend all sorts of things to enjoy, not just the most obvious and familiar spots.
-
TeecycleTimGreat resource for exploring WisconsinI found this show when searching for ideas for an upcoming Door County vacation, and since then I’ve been binge-listening to every episode. My kids and I listen together to get road trip ideas and learn about Wisconsin history and attractions from all over the state. The hosts have a great rapport and knowledge of Wisconsin, and make it fun to listen to. I recommend this show for all seasons of travel.
-
jdjehduhGreat PodI love the podcast, but what I love even more is the hosts’ idea for a Wisconsin Jeopardy competition. Why not dedicate an episode for Eric Paulsen to face off against the dynamic duo of Stephanie Klett and Rick Rose about their vast knowledge of the Badger State?!! Trivia nerds like me would eat it up more than Josh Ostermann can eat a thin crust, pub style-cut pizza.
-
lbraaksI love WI!Great Podcast and very informative about a variety of topics about the great state of Wisconsin. I would love to hear an episode about Wisconsin Disc Golf courses. We have so many top tier courses and a large disc golf community and tournaments year round!

JulesTWCReady. Set. Adventure.I love The Cabin! I feel like I am friends with Eric & Susan at this point, and we just meet for breakfast every Tuesday. I always get great inspiration to keep exploring & adventuring across our incredible state. This podcast is constantly adding to my WI bucket list that currently has over 300 spots saved on my Google map! 😂 The Cabin is your landing spot to help you plan your day trips across the state. 💜A fan girl, @ThatWisconsinCouple

PaulaDe03Lambeau LeapThe Cabin Podcast is a touchdown and deserves to do the Lambeau Leap. I grew up in Wisconsin and recently moved back from “Spam Town USA” (Austin, MN). I started listening to the podcast as I was driving back and forth between Minnesota and Wisconsin. I have learned so much of what Wisconsin has to offer. I can’t wait to visit all of the new locations that you have talked about. Please keep up the entertaining banter. 🙌🙌🙌

OneidaSvenA Displaced WisconsiniteSeveral years ago my career took me from my beloved home state of Wisconsin to Minnesota. I’ll always consider myself a Wisconsinite because that’s where my heart is. I discovered your podcast at episode 2 and have been hooked ever since. Your commentary helped get me through the pandemic when we couldn’t travel, and still brings me home with each episode! Two possible topics for your consideration may be two programs at which Wisconsin is excels, but with which few are familiar - Wisconsin‘a Rustic Roads and Wisconsin’s State Natural Areas. Keep up the great work, I’ll be listening!
-
miriam.martingWisco gold! You all create the coziest and most informative podcast about the awesomeness of Wisconsin! It’s pure gold. And I’m gonna miss audio”chemist” Dave but wish him all the best. Thanks for pitching to launch this. I’ve binge listened since discovering The Cabin in January. So much to learn and very relatable. Such great conversation you invite the listener into. Keep ‘er goin! -Miriam from Wausau

dgw83Wisconsinite in trainingY’all are what my opinion of what Wisconsin locals truly are. This from the eyes and ears of an outsider from South Carolina. As I continue to train to be a proper Wisconsinite (in more ways then 1 😉). I continue to look forward to new episodes, also going to the archives for this show to richen my knowledge of this great state. Hopefully as the weather warms up the topic of epic car shows can be covered. This may only be a suggestion but I look forward to exploring this also this summer. Keep it up and I will eagerly await the next show. Dan

breeeesyA podcast That Feels Like HomeHello Cabin Pod Crew ( and Mariah too!), I’m a long time listener and would like to give you all a big THANK YOU for producing such an excellent show!! I used to live in Madison and Milwaukee Wisconsin but recently moved home to California. I listen to the show every day to and from work, it is the highlight of my day and brings me comfort and joy. Each episode is filled with such great storytelling, state history and places I want to explore next time I’m in the cheese state. Also, I just so happened to learn my family’s ancestry in America started in Winnebago Wisconsin! I’m looking forward to a trip back there to learn more about my roots and to see all the places you guys have talked about. Love hearing all of your Midwest accents too, keep up the great work, Love from California, -Brie (like the cheese)

hrice19A Compliment and a RequestHello Cabin Crew! My sister, cousin, and I absolutely love your podcast! We compare notes every week after listening and are always adding places and adventures to our Wisconsin bucket list! One thing we love to do together is check out WI coffee shops! Our little coffee crew would love an episode on WI coffee shops! If you need three guest hosts to accompany you we have quite the extensive list! ;) Thank you so much for all your amazing recommendations! Your podcast has been something for us bond over! We will always be loyal followers!

niina_baumFun and interesting topics! The Cabin really knows how to pick new, interesting, and fun topics to talk about. It’s never boring and I always learn something new. Even though I’ve lived in Wisconsin my whole life I’m always amazed at how much I don’t know about this wonderful state.

Its very informative and our must do list keeps expanding. I look forward every week to hearing what “hidden gem” they turn us on to. The interaction and jocularity between the cast will make you laugh. A fav for us for sure.
